WILD & FREE: A BOHEMIAN BRIDAL AFFAIR
After several creative chats with Alyssa Caron from Bridezilla Beauty, the inspiration behind this shoot was born. I was excited about the collaborative process and exchanges between all of the talented souls involved in this shoot. With this being my first styled shoot, I really had no idea what to expect and I was blown away by the receptivity and energy in all of the vendors who contributed.
My cross cultural background was a guide to me as I searched out the details that came from all over the world, in particular the little girls dresses designed by Melanie Yates of Wild and Free Babywear in Haiti. Oh Dina’s flower crowns came to us from Halifax, Native Paths stunning dream catchers from Texas and the barefoot accessory worn by the bride came all the way from Lithuania.
Michelle Belsky from Magnolia Studios was ecstatic to be the eye behind the lens and she truly captured my vision. Avalon Jewelery provided not only the stunning accessories but as well, the backdrop at their private woodland oasis. Sweet Lovely Bakes, Midge Flower Design, and Lovely Little Paper enhanced the perfectly rustic setting further created by the vintage chic props of My Back Shed. Discovering Lowon Pope was an absolutely beautiful experience. The designers behind these dresses took time in person to handpick their one-of-a-kind dresses that would reflect the bohemian yet feminine vision of this shoot- it couldn’t have felt more intimate!
The feminine mystique evolved as MUA Alyssa Caron created the characters to embody the spirit woven into these dresses.
The satisfaction of watching all of these intricate details come together is beyond words. Pretty incredible things happen when you pair a fabulous team of vendors with the rustic yet whimsical qualities of weathered wood, cascading florals and organic hues.
